Born in 1983, Romania. Has lived in London, UK for more than 9 years.
Vladimir recalls his earliest inclination towards artistic expression back to when he was 8 years old. Cartoon and video game characters especially were his main sources of inspiration. Unfortunately, the social circumstances didn’t allow him to cultivate his artistic talent, which led him to many years of investing his time and energy into other skills and commitments.
Fortunately for an artistic soul like Vladimir, music was one other talent that he pursued and that was essentially what made him relocate from Sweden to London back in 2009. During his stay in Sweden, he studied art for 3 years at an art college in Ljungby, and since his move to London, he has obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and as he has been working as a guitar teacher and musician until present.
2017 was the year that Vladimir decided to invest wholeheartedly in his artistic talent and build up a solid portfolio, aiming to become a selling artist in the near future.
Through his artwork, Vladimir shows a deep love and appreciation for portraiture and figurative drawing and painting. His considers Anders Zorn, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci, John Singer Sargent, Salvador Dali, Joaquin Sorolla just to name a few, to be the absolute masters who have created the greatest paintings in history. A few more recent artists who through their instructional work have helped Vladimir to break new boundaries in the field of charcoal and watercolor portraiture are Nathan Fawkes and Stan Miller. Their dazzling portraits have inspired Vladimir to uncover his originality more and more.
Vladimir’s main artistic philosophy is to incorporate 3 main elements in each of his artwork: a good story, subject expression, expressive light. A few examples of artwork incorporating these elements were exhibited at The Twin Peaks UK Festival 2018. As a big David Lynch fan, Vladimir was thrilled to get the opportunity to exhibit his artwork there and for the very first time.
His main goal as a selling artist is to be expressive, to strive for excellency and to interpret our current times through a range of mediums such as charcoal, watercolor, pastels and oil paint.
